Keeping Up With The Karelians

Kika Birgir: Hero of the Great War, ruler of the lands of Cournagorms, and Imperial Protector.
Lady Birgir, is a person of many titles but it is that of Protector that defines her most. As Imperial
Protector it is her duty to see to her Imperial Majesty's security, to consult with her on personal affairs,
and to ensuring the monarch has someone to keep their power in check (and to replace them should it
come to that.) The last role was abandoned over time. But the first has greatly expanded its jurisdiction.

In the era of The Long Peace, the architect of authority has built her Kejserinde an intricate system
where the lines between civil and military blend into the very shadows where her agents keep watch.
Where old ideas of royalism are dressed in the clothes of modern culture and art, and where past
vendettas are paid in full.

Caoimhe Birgir: Was seen as just the little white haired Rostefian yokel until she was adopted by Lady
Birgir. She spent a childhood growing up with the Protector's biological daughter and the lady's other
ward, the Kejserinde. In the years since Caoimhe has become a rising star in the Luftkorps, being
granted her own airfortress, the Antonia Mathiasen and crewing it with skilled misfits overlooked by
the rest of command. She gives them the chance to prove themselves, like the chance given to her.
One that she will never forget, one she will do anything, kill anyone, to repay.

Rika Hedberg: A lover of contemporary music, casual clothes, and having a good time, the Duchess
of Stornoway can be seen as rather "free spirited" by some of her older peers. She embraces this
lifestyle even as part of military high command's strategic planning wing, penning-up new battleplans
from the back of her convertible while enjoying a night at the races; wargamming new strategies with
her friends. All the while always turning out her work organized and on-time. Friends and rivals alike
have to admit that when future conflict erupts, imperial forces will be retracing the steps laid out
alongside drinks, smokes, and friends.

Duchess Rask of Argyll: Not everyone is happy with the Karelia forged in the legacy of the Great War.
Some like the duchess Rask still hold on to the old ways. As Imperial Protector Birgir and Kejserinde Frida
create the "Empire of the Future" the champion of the past waits for her moment to stop the clock.

Crown Secretary Finn Frandsen: Is the embodiment of 'keep your friends close and your enemies
closer' as the leader of the Karelian Aequalists he was taken aback by the Empress' offer to be the
head of her government. With the revolution taking it's time to come north he accepted the post to help
the commoners of the empire live to see that day. All the while the Empress and her Imperial Protector
keep the arch-revolutionary on his leash while keeping the messes happy with his reforms.
